fall fashion events: Austin and beyond!

Ahoy, fellow style mavens! Summer seems to be winding to a close even in Austin, and as sad as that makes me, I’m actually ready to break out the fall clothes and start a new season. New York Fashion Week is in full swing, and MAN do I want to be there. This year has brought some crazy fun runway shows and seriously head-turning fashion that I wish I were there to see live. For us mere mortals that watch the NYFW drama from home, here’s a list of accessible fashion-focused events going on this fall that you won’t want to miss…

  • In Austin, Tribeza Style Week brings several days of fun style-focused events. The week caps off with the annual fashion show, and you can bet I’ll be there with bells on (and camera out!) Speaking of Tribeza Style Week…
  • Katie Kime is this year’s presenting sponsor for the event. She’s opening her brick-and-mortar shop in Austin at 5th and Lamar on Thursday, September 17th with a chic soiree and I’m mos def gonna swing by to check this one out. Her style is sort of Jonathan Adler meets Lilly Pulitzer, and I want to see what her shop has in store! (Shopping puns. Gotta love ’em.)
  • Later this month, Adam Lippes for Target launches nationwide on September 27th. Lots of plaid prints in cool styles: I’m interested enough to wake up that morning and jet to my local store to check it out. But the real question is, will this be a big hit or a total miss in terms of designer Target collabs? I’ve seen both in the last few years, so we’ll have to see what happens the day of (see: Lilly Pulitzer line causing Target’s website crash).
  • Even later this fall is the Balmain for H&M line which drops in early November. The last few H&M designer collaborations have been… interesting… and somehow not very accessible at all. In any case, I always like to be there in person to see the pieces (and more importantly, feel them and see what the construction is like).

What are you most looking forward to this fall?
