Hey, y’all! I’m Liz, a fashion-loving mess living in Austin, Texas who’s just trying to keep it together most of the time. I work full-time in tech which keeps me pretty busy, but I love writing and other creative and social ventures in addition (cheers to the side hustle!) I also like candy, travel, pumpkin milkshakes, big hugs, and laying on the beach.

A brief FAQ and a bit more about me…

How would you describe your style?

In all honesty, I think my style is kind of all over the board. I’m constantly rotating pieces in and out, forever in the pursuit of The Perfect Outfit. A blogger friend was asked this question as well and she opined that my style is “like if Judy Jetson and Ginger from Gilligan’s Island had a very stylish love child”, which I happily own. I’d say my style is “chameleon tomboy chic”. See My Style Philosophy for more on this.

Who are your favorite designers?

Oh man, this is a tough one. There are quite a few designers I follow for inspiration and for my mental list of ‘pie in the sky/some day’ shopping. My current faves are Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Marni, Rachel Comey, Mara Hoffman, Tracy Reese, I. Ronni Kappos, and The Row. I also follow several local designers who create some serious goodness. This list changes constantly, though, and style inspiration truly is everywhere!

Where do you shop?

Another question that “all over the place!” would be an appropriate answer to. I never say “absolutely not” to a potential style source, but in terms of national brands and chains, here are a few places that I’ll usually find something I love: Anthropologie, Gap, LOFT, J.Crew, Nordstrom, and Madewell. Again, I like to be able to shop locally whenever I can, and fortunately Austin is full of local design talent (Wear Twelve, Fortress of Inca, esby, and Raven + Lily are just a few). I’m also coming around to the idea of vintage: Etsy and Instagram are great sources for seeking out some amazing vintage finds.

What size are you?

I’m 5’6″ and usually around a 6 or 8 in dresses and pants. Tops are all over the place: usually a small or medium depending on the arm/shoulder fit (I have fairly broad shoulders). I also have kinda big feet and my shoe size is usually a 9.5 (40 or 41 in European sizing).

I’m visiting Austin for the first time. Where do I go, what do I do, where do I eat?

Short answer: anywhere and everywhere! Austin is such a unique place with all sorts of things to do, see and eat. My personal favorite spots around town are the South Congress stretch, where you can find all sorts of places to shop and eat (Big Top Candy Shop is my favorite place in Austin, hands down!) The Domain is an ever-expanding retail and gastronomic paradise in North Austin. And there are some great neighborhoods to explore like Hyde Park near the UT campus, Clarksville, the Eastside, Bouldin and Zilker… if you are after something specific, feel free to shoot me an e-mail (in Contact page).
