East Austin find: Mana Culture

After a barn-burning hatha flow class at Eastside Yoga yesterday morning, I noticed that the little boutique across the street, the one that I always seem to walk past when they’re closed, was open. Huzzah! High on endorphins and not giving a damn that I was still a bit sweaty (err, dewy) from yoga, I walked across the street to check it out, and I’m sure glad I did. Mana Culture is a downright adorable little boutique that specializes in local jewelry (the shop carries a mix of local and national designers), some of which is created by the shop’s owner. I picked up a pair of geometric brass studs during my visit:

The pieces the shop carries are all reasonably priced (I don’t think I saw anything over $200), and they have a South Austin location as well. I particularly loved this Texas blue opal necklace: I may break down and end up back there soon. I have to say, East Austin really suits The Boy and I quite well. We love our neighborhood, and are always reading about this or that going on and places that are opening in the area. A few of our local faves, the Quickie Pickie, East End Wines and Sagra, are right down the street from us. ‘Walkability’ is a quality that we were looking for in a new place to live, and we’ve definitely found it in our little ‘hood. Love East Austin!
